Waterways is the original townsite of Fort McMurray and it retains much of its historic charisma.  Originally developed as a shipping hub, the area now welcomes home buyers and a variety of businesses.  Although the Athabasca River separates Waterways from the rest of the city, the neighbourhood enjoys direct access to Highway 63.
